Betty Kenworthy

This basket was made in craft classes and it was entered in the 1959 Dandenong Show where it won a First Prize. I was chuffed !.

This is my original schoolbag. When we started we had to take our books to and fro school everyday, because we were all accomodated in three different halls around Dandenong. Mine was St. Lukes Hall, until later in 1957 we all came together under one roof at an old weaving factory called "Eclarte`". Before I had my school bag I used my music case which used to often fall open while riding my bike to the Pakenham Station and walking from the Dandy Station to the hall. Books everywhere, so frustrating .

I was an original student when the school first opened in 1957. The school was Dandenong girls Secondary School (DGSS).

This is my first go at blogging so will experiment and hopefully add photos and more news soon .
